Re: -NEW- Assignment 14: Be creative with Depth Of Field
Looking forward to seeing the great uses of limited depth of field.
Re: -NEW- Assignment 14: Be creative with Depth Of Field
Sean, I didn't kill the old thread to allow people to follow why there is a new one. I did lock it though.
Salt Shaker:
Canon T1i + Sony M3358 closeup filter + Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS, @ 300mm, f/29, 1/160, Flash - Manual exposure and focus.
Flash used as my tripod is too wobbly.

Re: -NEW- Assignment 14: Be creative with Depth Of Field
This little guy climbed up on my porch where it was the perfect excuse to break out the new 100mm IS macro lens. I bought this lens to get more into product photography but the little critter macro stuff is fun every now and then. I wanted to get as much of this little guy in the frame so I was inches away. Being this close limited my DOF plus I was hand holding the camera where F/11 was about as high as I could get and stay below ISO 1600.
5d2, Av 11, Tv 1/15, ISO 1600

I remember this froggy shot from before---and love it-Nice job and good luck
Re: -NEW- Assignment 14: Be creative with Depth Of Field
Does that make for a crummy entry since I put it up before? I was thinking maybe no one saw it. My posts don't seem to draw a lot of attention.

No, Not at all. And I avoid putting up the same pic more than once also; but sometimes you have those pics that just seem to work in multiple threads---The frog is a solid submission.

Re: -NEW- Assignment 14: Be creative with Depth Of Field
I like the frog Bryan, and I liked it when you posted it previously. You say you wanted to fill the frame and I'd say you did a damn fine job at that! Very nicely framed.
A while back now I had a very calm cicada who sat nicely for some portraits. I didn't try for or get much DOF, but that's good for this post.
Canon D60, 100mm f/2.8 macro (original, not USM), f/5, 1/250s, ISO-400, manually focussed. From memory this was on a tripod.

Okay! That's the first time I've used flickr - so thanks to Sean Setters for his tips on posting images.
