2019 - Image of the Week #12

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly, and, finally, in our annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

• The Week 12 entry period will be from Monday March 18th through/including Sunday, March 24th.
• Please supply a title for your image.
• This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro, or any other appropriate photographic style.
• Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
• Enter as many times as you would like.

Last night was no go on northern lights so decided to have little moonlight selfie.

Signs of spring are beginning to show up in the south of Sweden. This one's from this afternoon.

This was a tough week as there were several standouts. In the end, I'm going with Brant's "Svortuloft Lighthouse." I typically prefer shoreline shots utilizing a slower shutter speed, but the frozen action – with the large wave crashing, beautifully textured water and cloud-like mist – was definitely the right choice for the image. The composition is very well layered, inviting the eye to travel around the image.

Great job everyone; as I mentioned, it was definitely a challenging week to judge.
