Another image of one of the Northern Flickers visiting my feeders lately.....I have seen 2 pairs in the last 3 weeks or so. I see them around this area frequently but they have avoided my set up except during extreme winter. Not sure why they have become more friendly but they are probably the most striking woodpecker we have in terms of color and pattern.

Looks like National Geographic, nice work Joel. The Northern Flicker from last week was very good, this week's is even better. Makes me want to take the rest of day off and head into the woods for a few hours before sunset.....

Costa Rica
I went on a trip to Costa Rica last month. Lots of birds down there! These were taken with my 70-300L and 5DS. Would have loved to have something something longer or faster (or both).

Thanks guys, it was fun. The Mississippi is about 2 hours away from me. My birthday was last Monday so we took it, had some really good Italian for lunch and then went to the lock and dam area.
