Thanks Nick, this was taken from a pontoon boat with very early morning sun at my back, the lines are sun light reflected off the water.
The dark background is mangrove trees in the distance and I darkened it a little in photoshop but no flash was used.

What I believe is a Greater Sage-Grouse at Yellowstone.
I really had to much focal length with my 500mm to get the picture I wanted, the hen had two babies and I was not able to capture a good pic with all three of them together.

Great shots, Joel!
An image of a swallow from me this time.

I noticed a place frequented by swallows, so I lay down on the ground, and spent some time there. Lying down almost without movements, I didn't look scary to the birds, and I took many images.

Tadas,
Wonderful shot!! Great depth of field, composition, sharpness and color. Catchlight in the eye, and the bird is in action. Excellent.

Re: Post your best bird shots!
There are some phenomenal pictures in this thread... Joel, I love the swooping eagle - what shutter speed was that taken at? The photo just looks 'dangerous'!
Here's one from me of some slightly less dangerous birds.

It was taken with a 50mm prime though, so I the one at the front was really about to bite me!
