Pileated Woodpecker portrait.
This guy was on my platform feeder today when I came home for lunch.....he was so close I went for a portrait so as to not show the feeder:)

wow ! i wish i could take pictures like that.
just a question , why would you go 1600 iso and not a lower number with faster shutter ? is there a reason or just personal preference.

I did manage to get a few Baltimore Oriole shots in my backyard today that turned out alright for having to use a Kenko 2x extender on my Sigma 50-150mm. I'm still working on getting better hb shots but this one will have to do since it is my best for now ...

Brant, Costa Rica keeps floating to the top of our vacation destination list. I'm worried I'll spend too much time photographing birds and such, though. :cool:

The second one of the Goslings is fantastic...I love all the different poses, very nice.
