Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have a whole lot of time to shoot. My family just loves waiting for me to take pictures of birds (sarcasm). I really wanted to try to get a Black Skimmer "skimming" the water. That has always been a dream shot of mine. I got down to the beach on the first day with my backpack on and a skimmer "skimmed" along the water right in front of me. Unfortunately, this was the only one I saw the entire week. I also saw my first Little Blue Heron, but he/she was wayyy too far out to get a good shot. I waited on him/her for an hour to come closer without any luck. I really need to go on a trip with some other bird photographers so that I can focus all of my attention on photography.
dsiegel...very nice White Ibis...I'm really not into shore birds, but I'd shoot this one. Nice composition...
Joel.....another Pileated in the backyard....what's your secret? Needless to say; very well done.
New low slow shutter for capturing back lit wing blur of this male Ruby-throated HB....1/80th

I have seen a pair of Pileated WP's for a long time but only after I had been feeding suet consistently for 3-4 years did they start regularly coming in and being comfortable enough to hang around for some images. So I guess extreme patience is my secret:)
PS....I am still amazed you get the HB body sharp with those ridiculous shutter speeds!
I believe this to be a juvenile Brown Thrasher but I am not 100% certain....it's a new visitor to my set up. I took this very early this morning and it was cloudy as well so I needed high ISO and a slower shutter than I would like but this little guy held still for a few seconds. Please correct me if I am wrong on the ID.

Lochnell - Welcome to the forum, and that shot is a great way to introduce yourself.
Nice set-up. I look forward to seeing more from your 400mm f/2.8L IS. I have not seen a lot of shots from that lens before.
