It's overcast and gloomy in south central Ky today, makes for very moody images.

First time I've seen a wild owl. Luckily people were there to point out where they were. ;) They were *far*. That's using the 7D + 70-300L @ 300mm, so 480mm. Originally I cropped them and resized them to 900 px tall, like all my other pics, but they're very nearly 100% crops (like originally 930 and 960 or something after crop). Because of that, the quality wasn't the best, so I downsized them to 600 px tall, and stuck two together.
If you fly up here, with a nice big long lens, I'll show you where to find them. :)
If you want my personal guided tour, a weekend. I can supply a map if you'd rather not wait. They look pretty big to me. They might leave the nest pretty soon.
A few other pics from the day's outing. The Heron and Wood Duck are similarly focal length limited as the owls were, which is why I didn't upload them the first time... They weren't worth one of my precious 200 flickr slots. Seeing as how that's no longer an issue, I can share some less than ideal shots. I didn't even *try* to take a picture of the beaver swimming past the heron. It's a pretty busy little pond.
I realize the gosling shots would benefit from laying down on the ground, but no. It was muddy and I was carrying two cameras and a spare lens. I'll leave those shots to people with vari-angle screens or some sort of gosling related income. That's got to be pretty niche, and I wouldn't want to cut into your sales.
