Gorgeous Erno. It looks like a painting.

This is crazy good Enro. Beautiful shot.
Mark. I really like #2.
I was in New York for work this past week. I ended up only having time to shoot as I walked up to Penn Station to catch the train. But here are a few:
I saw an effect on a shot someone took of Boston of what I think was extremely high clarity/vibrance, but slightly desaturated. Here is my attempt to emulate it:

I had an uncomfortable feeling while walking the "High Line" trail ;)

Quick shot of the "High Line" trail. I just like the idea that this is in New York.

Thanks for viewing....Brant
Beautiful shot Erno.
Interesting street work Brant. Nice concept that elevated walkway and garden.
Went looking for bears this morning; found this furry friend instead.

Nice on Jonathan. Hope the lumpy nose isn't a sign of infection.
I believe it is, unfortunately. Here is a front-on view taken a moment earlier... you can see she's pretty scratched up. But in other shots I could see signs that she is actively nursing a litter, so this is one tough mama.

Great shots of the coyote Jonathan.
I guess I'll throw this here since it is my only current shot. I got this at a tip the other night at work, it's 79 years old.

Hi there!
Haven't posted anything for a while but here is one from last week-end. As one can see, in Lausanne (Switzerland), the flowers are there but the clouds are sticking around...

Then another one, a bit more abstract. Just a log of wood but I liked the way it was lit

This is an intentional blur of horses crossing the finish line at Churchill Downs on Sunday afternoon. We went for the special Mother's Day brunch / horse racing event. My wife and I also took her mother (age 94) .... she knows how to pick the winners!

Nice shot, Joel. So they allowed removable lens cameras there on Sunday but not at the Kentucky Derby?
What do you think?

I like the pose, the low shooting angle and the lighting. I might consider cropping a little off the bottom and (on my screen) it looks a little over-sharpened because I think I am seeing some sharpening induced artifacts on the rock.
I really love the low angle shots but since I am nearing 60 my body doesn't like it so much:)
Yes, I tried to edit my post to add that I liked the BG too and also images need to over-sharpened on screen to make excellent prints. I couldn't get my edit to come across for some reason.
Shot another newborn last weekend. Here's one of her and her big brother :-) I am more used to working with infants than frogs ;-)

This is fantastic Joel! I think it would look great framed in a 2:1 ratio

Agreed Joel...great shot....
Mark, very nice as well....
I am doing Little League Baseball of my friend's kids again this year. To minimize processing time I have been shooting small jpegs rather than RAW. They actually come out pretty good most of the time just straight from the camera. I thought this one was nice.

Lots of baseball shots it seems. Well, I'm going to throw in a softball one. This is my first time ever shooting any kind of sport with my DSLR. I had to deal with extremely overcast skies so this didn't come out as well as I would have liked. I went with my girlfriend to watch her little sister play. This picture was taken right before she hit the ball for a walk off double, winning the game for her team. I liked the moment it captured more than the actual shot itself, if that makes sense. I took a bunch more pictures, just havent gotten around to going through them yet. I also had a mother ask me to photograph her daughter while playing and she said she'd pay me, so I expect I will be going to more games in the future :D
Anyways, here's the shot -

Gorgeous, clear night last night, managed to get this shot.

It's been a long time since I posted a picture here. I tried to take advantage of the few sunny hours we had this morning. It's probably the worst Spring I've seen in my life here. The weather has been terrible since March, with only a couple of sunny days during the weekends.
Well, the bright side is that it has been easier for me to chose my best current shot, as it is my only current shot. :p

Snow...again. by Tounis_9, on Flickr
Very, very nice.
Begs for a timelapse of the clouds moving up the/down the mountain. If you have a timer that can do intervals, then either shoot small raw and convert to jpg or just shoot small jpg, load into MS movie maker (free on windows 7) fiddle w/ transition a bit and bang a time lapse.
None the less very very nice.
Thanks Pat. The snow was a surprise this late in the Spring, but it gave us a wonderful morning.
I never really thought about a timelapse. I could easily do it, because I have to confess the picture above is the view I get while looking through the window at my parents' place. But I would have to invest a little time to study the technique, and a little money for the accessories. Thanks for the good suggestion.Quote:

Really love the second one. The third reminded me of Jan's shot I believe. Pretty cool.
Thanks Mark. Here in the Alps, this kind of scenery is quite common, so maybe the view is a little less expensive (even my parents' entire house was :p ) . But it's really what we're fortunate enough to see through the window. Spring is always a great period to take this picture, thanks to the contrast between the bright green in the valley and the snow in the mountain.
By the way, I am jealous of all the animals you can see in your backyard. I don't know how many dollars they're worth, but I would really like to see them.
