Just used this to create a birthday card for my mum online.
It's going to be late of course, but hopefully this'll make up for it.

Very cool shot. I immediately notice the third post from the right that is vacant of any bird. I definitely like it this way.
Thanks Richard.
Ham, I bet your mum loved the card. That is a very cool picture.
Thanks rlriii13 and Jayson.
I agree with you rlriii, for what it's worth.
Ham....just say you spent hours lining the gulls up just perfect and I am sure she'll love it :)
Haven't been out recently on photo trips...something that I need to change....but I did manage to snap these two recently:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^wow!!!!
Awesome, Denise.
Tough acts to follow on this page, but here's a before and after of an image I shot yesterday. I had two seconds to grab the camera and shoot before my wife pulled up to pick me up. Took some work in Photoshop, but it's such an amazing program I believe almost anything is possible with it.

I went to a wildlife refuge that was completely submerged by the Missouri River last summer. It appears that it has hardly recovered at all. A house about a mile from the entrance to the refuge still shows signs of the water about 4 feet up on exterior. Sad to see as this was a beautiful place to visit during migration season.

Here's a shot of the outskirts of the refuge by some farm land. I can't believe the amount of sand deposited. This is taken from the road. There are signs all over stating beware of blowing sand.

Mark, that is some serious PP. Nice job removing the vehicles. Great capture too.
@Rick....nice shot. Really like the reflection in the fountain's pool.
@Jayson....sad, but interesting shots.
Totally agree. It is way to dry everywhere. The game reserve is called Boyer Chute NWR. It is just north of Omaha, NE. I haven't been to DeSoto NWR since the snow melted from this winter to see the effects the flood had on it. I do believe Boyer Chute was hit much harder due to its location in relation to the Missouri River. Boyer got sand while DeSoto got mud.
Here is some corn. I was trying to get a good picture of the corn rows, but I believe I am just too short.

I like the first 2 images anyway.
but your comment does remind me-
I have seen a photographer from a VW magazine at a couple shows walking around with a ladder
and although I've not seen it.. perhaps attaching to tripod setting timer and lifting tripod into air and hope for best
Anyone done either of those? better ideas for gaining height for a shot?
I knew a photojournalist who brought a stepladder with him everywhere, just cause he liked getting high up to shoot.

Dave
These shots were taken with the timer set to 10 seconds. The camera was mounted on a monopod and then stuck into the corn rows from outside the field.

Denise, that is a delicious looking cake. Never had the pleasure of trying that kind.
Dave, I think it's an issue with flickr, but your shots don't load for me and when I click on the link and go to flickr, I still can't see them. I think it's flickr being very slow, though. I've had lots of problems accessing images there lately.
Mark, I really like the first one that shows the whole corn row. That is a great idea with the monopod.
