Nice work Ham...I like the first one best.....
The first one is actually my first ever HDR shot. Bracketted two exposures that I think were only a stop and a half apart.
I need a more stable tripod though (I just bought a cheap £40 manfrotto because I still haven't decided what to splash out on yet).
Nice shots, ham! I also like the first one best! They do make me want to climb a building and take some shots from up high, maybe facing the marina and Lake Michigan ...hmmm, you've given me an idea!
In the meantime, taking some shots at ground level was pretty fun today! This dog was sure enjoying himself at the lake!

Nice shots, Ham. You're lucky to have been given such access. Glad you took advantage.
Love the action shots, Denise.
I was back at the old shed again this morning. It had rained earlier and then the sun came out and started burning off the ground fog. This is a merge of two handheld shots, one exposed for sky, one for foreground.

Great Shot Mark.....
Denise, really like the Gulls...
I've got another to share, a B&W of St. Paul's Cathedral.
Thanks for the comments guys. I'm really enjoying my photography at the moment, I almost feel like I've turned a corner since I got involved on Google+.

Great shot, Ham. But maybe clone out the far cranes? Shouldn't be hard.
Not sure how I feel about cloning things out of these shots... I don't normally mind, but London's skyline is always covered in cranes, buildings going up, coming down and being renovated.
I'll consider it though, thanks!
Oh and Denise, the second shot of that dog has just made me laugh out loud and wake the sleeping GF up! I'm blaming you, hope that's OK :D :D :D
Ham - This is a really nice shot. Love that view of St Paul's. It probably would look better w/o the crane in the middle of it, but it is still a great shot that I doubt many get the chance to take. I have a tendancy to not want to clone a lot of things out also, but in the end the city scape may be more pleasing with the cloning.
Nice shot Ham, I actually like the cranes, maybe a slightly different angle where they weren't so close to the main well lit subject. But I think cranes add a sense of history and dates some images and that is a good thing.
Great shots Denise, like the dog having a dip and the gulls are superb.
Mark, really nice muted pretty colours work really well with the forboding silhouette of the large tree. And the smaller trees look like they are ganging up on the barn, great image.
Thanks, guys!
Today, I experimented with reflections in water droplets on blades of grass and that didn't go so well so tonight, I was playing with smoke again for lack of anything better to do!

Very cool shot. How'd you do that?
Pretty nifty stuff with the incense Denise.
Nifty smoke Denise. I figured it was smoke, a long exposure, and a laser pointer drawing spirals.
We're happy to finally be able to go outside without winter coats.

Thanks guys!
Cute photo, David! I really think spring is here to stay! I really like the tones in this photo and a couple of the last ones you posted on flickr. What are you using for pp?
I'm also really liking the Cross Processing effect, which is why ALL of my recent pictures are all using it. ;) One day I may tire of it.
I'm just using DPP. I learned of the simulated Cross Processing effect from a trial Corel AfterShot Pro. I learned how you can do it yourself on the web (just adjusting the R, G, and B curves individually in a certain way), and went back to using DPP. I have Elements 10, and so I could use Adobe Camera RAW, but I prefer using DPP. Elements is more for if I want to draw, or use Content Aware Healing.
I know I sort of mentioned doing a review of Corel's AfterShot Pro, but really, I'm not finding myself using it. There's one feature of ASP that I don't have in DPP that I know I'd find useful on occasion. Selective editing. And I don't need that very regularly. There are many things I find better and/or easier in DPP than in ASP. ASP's included noise reduction is so sub-par that it's not a single program solution. People who have a registered version of Noise Ninja may have better luck. But if I need to use two programs, it might as well be DPP and Elements 10 (or even GIMP). I haven't tried Lightroom yet, but from everything I hear, it does much, much, more than ASP, and now it's only $50 more, instead of an extra $200... so yeah, I can't be bothered to write up a review.
For about 10 years, my father used to take me fishing every weekend with his fishing buddies during fishing season, so when I saw these two in the park yesterday I couldn't help but watch and reflect back on some good times!
I don't know how many here listen to country music, but the lyrics of Trace Adkins tune "Just fishin' came to mind ...

Nice shot, Denise. I miss fishing. My best friend lives near a lake and we used to take our "belly boats" down to the water just as the sun was rising. The water was always like a mirror. Perfectly calm and flat. It was so incredibly peaceful. Good times for sure.

I know this shot is just a bunch of leaves, but I really like it for some reason

nvitale - The web is really nice.
Nick, that web shot is great! I have been looking for one like that for years but never get the shot when I find one. Cudos!!!
Denise, that fishing shot is classic. I always wished I had something like that with my grandpa for the memories. Great catch!
Nice shot, Franco. Is there supposed to be water pouring over those rocks?
M_Six: I don't think there is water running..it's just a garden in a park
I am starting to like the light of the street lamps, and night photography in general. Time for a tripod I think

Thanks for viewing.
Very nice Steve,
I like the dramatic skies and the tones. HDR or just a little post?
Arnt
Fantastic shots, Steve!! The skies most definitely add some drama to the them!
Thanks guys, there certainly is a bit of HDR in there, as long as I stay away from those HDR "halos", I find the drama adds to my viewing pleasure.

This is a digital orca sculpture designed for the Vancouver winter Olympics..
Sometimes, it's best to not look out your bedroom window at the crack of dawn! I saw this peeking out from under my garage this morning!
I am terrified of these little critters and am most definitely limiting my backyard time (poor doggies), I just have to figure out how I am going to work in my garden that is next to the garage where he pushed all the dirt out from! Pretty noisy shot because the sun hadn't fully come up yet but he would still be ugly even with low ISO!

awww, but that little mouse is adorable.
any chance your dogs are good at hunting mice? If yes, you should spent even more time in the garden.
If not, get a cat, or a weasel :-)
So cute! Just look at those cute ears:D Last week I went into the shed to grab my old mountainbike. A big black cat jumped and ran out of the shed. It scared the crap out of of me! I'd rather see a mouse next time:rolleyes:
Me and my brother took these shots mondaynight:
