Re: Post your best current shots
Hi, I'm new to the forum but have followed TDP and the forum for about two years. Actually the reviews and the forum discussions have contributed significantly to my purchasing decisions.
As an enthusiast rather than a professional photographer, my time with the camera is more or less limited to a couple of hours during the weekend. These are some shots from the last two weekends showing that the winter is still going strong. All photos are taken with 24-105 f/4 L on Rebel T1i at ISO100 and f/8.
Big blocks of ice thrown ashore by a recent storm (24mm -1/250 sec)

A heavily overcast sky and snow in the air. But the sun found a small crack in the clouds (55mm - 1/320 sec)

Some brave swimmers found a spot not covered by ice (24mm - 1/160 sec)

But no one will be swimming here for a while (45 mm - 1/30 sec)

True, that’s not Australia. The photos are from the east coast of Sweden where the Baltic Sea has been more or less completely covered by ice this winter. I guess north European geography is not obvious for someone living on the other side of the globe, so I include a link to a Wikipedia map for information. (Sweden is the dark green area and the Baltic Sea is the water east of Sweden.)

Re: Post your best current shots
took this picture this afternoon, I took total about 500 shots, and I have posted 2 more in "post your best bird shots thread" which are more close up pictures
7D, 500mm 4.0. all I can tell you is that my hands were shaking and my heart were beating so fast when I was taking those pictures. it was pretty bloody, I had the chance to save that poor bird, but I know it's just the way it should be.
