Denise,
You make a dreary day look good.
Here are a few I shot over the last week.

I looked at your Flickr site today with my wife and you know what she said "These Pictures are outstanding, Wow They are much better than yours". I want say what I said to her, LOL, but believe me I did agree with her. Your pictures are superb. [:'(]
Mark: I like your #1 shot. The boy looks extremely relaxed. Nice shot. [H]
I just open a Flickr account and I'm still working out how to organize galleries,[+o(] but if anyone is interested here is the link.

Thank you Wally & thank your wife for me! [:)] I just turned down my first paid gig of taking graduation photos because I know I'm not ready for that yet but hopefully next year!
Oh, and also thanks for reminding me that organizing my galleries in flickr is on my "to do" list ...amazing how that gets away from a person!

You really should have kept it. Of course if you have a 5D by then you'll be ok with your 24-105 or your 50.
Mark
You are so very right, Mark! I have missed my 17-55mm since I sold it!! Didn

Don't even know what kind of flower this is. It's a 6 shot HDR

And here is the same image with a little touch of Pixel Bender in Photoshop CS5
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i3...ng_HDR2-PB.jpg
Tkerr...love the pixel-bender version...I've fooled around with it a little bit, and I think I might just try some more. As far as the HDR goes on the flower...was there no wind at all, and did you use a tripod? Very good...
Ok...so after Tkerr did his pixel-bender version of the flower above, I've decided to try one out for size....please let me know what you think. I'm pretty sure it's awesome(at least the process!!), but I'll wait for some feedback.

Pixel Bender does an Awesome job on Fireworks.

There is an entire thread discussion dedicated to Pixel Bender at another forum I visit. Perhaps we could start one here?
I think that's a fantastic idea. I was shown pixel-bender for the first time at a Kelby Seminar hosted by Dave Cross on CS5. I LOVE the firework rendition from the link above...truly awesome!!
I haven't tried the CS5 HDR version yet, although I had read about the ghosting removal in another Kelby book. I use HDR Efex from NiK software, but I might have to try HDR Pro in CS5...I do a lot of hand-held HDR's....
What's the forum link for Pixel-Bender??

Tkerr, Great shot and nice work with the HDR---As far as the Pixel Bender opinion, I ma just not sure. There are some things I like about it and some I don

Ok, I know this pic isn't a masterpiece but I thought it was very cool. Look at the reflection in the horse's eye. His mate was standing close by.

@Tkerr...you got me really started on Pixel-Bender again!! Thank you. So here are some more iterations for everybody to peruse. As always, comments are very welcome!!

I really like the photo of your son in the boat and of the cat (the cats eyes look awesome) but I think I like the original of your dog better. I guess every photo can be a hit or miss with this application.
I downloaded pixel bender into my new CS5 program (the first plug-in I
Gregg, The one of Mason is my favorite also---with this shot, the effect really did it justice. Almost painting like.
Nice job,
Bob
Hey Denise...I have a 5 month old 90% top of the line HP computer with a 90% really good graphics card...and my computer running 8 gig of ram has a sometime hard time processing some of the pixel-bender shots I want to process in windows 7 64....it's pretty graphic intensive!! thanks for the comments..always appreciated!!
Gregg
Very cool, Gregg!
Thanks very much John...y
ok. ok...going a little overboard I think, but I did another....I know, you guys are like..."enough already!!"...but I leave for Kauai this Saturday, so I'm getting my posting fix in now. We'll be gone for 13 days, so I will have to play catch up when we return.
I call this one...Crazy Train....see if anyone can figure out the exif??...This is a tone mapped, Pixel-bended shot....thanks for looking

Okay...I lied...here's another. I really like doing these off the wall PP images...it's a break from the norm!!

@ Gregg, the last one is the best yet I think, the pimp crow is coming to town.
The train shot, I would say 50mm f1.2 1/30sec ISO1600.
I could see a market for your animal bended shots for vets or pet food before and after shots.
Steve
Hey Steve...that was pretty close!! I know the picture doesn't have Exif data...so how did you do it?? It was taken with the 50 1.2L, at ISO 800 and 1/30th@ f2.2...not bad!!
Here is the original file...

Elementary, my dear Gregg, elementary. It looked thin DOF, I know you have a 50/1.2, so I guessed the rest.
Ha, ha.

Wow, Nice catch DD and you have some great looking birds in your backyard---What are these guys called?
All I have is the run of the mill sparrows, finches doves and of course 3 kinds of hummers.
Bob
Thanks, Bob! These are baltimore orioles and it is the first year of attracting them to my backyard! Timing is everything in getting the food out when the arrive to the area, I guess. These guys love grape jelly and oranges!
Wow DD, the sharpness of that first shot is quite stunning.
I'm back with a few more rugby photos, this time from our Women's Team.
All shot with the Canon T1i with the 70-210mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens.

Thanks, Chris! You really have some nice action shots here!
Still processing a lot of shots from yesterday but I thought this one was rather cute ...
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3255/...c2ba9eec49.jpg
Chris,
Nice action shots! I like the low shooting. Some of them are a little soft and underexposed and the weather doesn't look like it was cooperating to much either. Crop tighter and watch your horizons. Push the ISO and shutter speeds up a little, since a nosier picture is better than a soft one. There are some great programs to remove noise later, if that becomes a problem.
On #2 I would try to crop a little bit of the foreground grass (I would leave the white line though, and a little bit from the left side to remove the girl in the white jersey that is partially cut off. I may even go up to the girl in the blue jersey 9 on the left and this will also remove the tallest light pole, but I like the girl with her hand on her hip, because she seems to be the only one paying any attention, but if you want to isolate the kicker then she may have to be removed.) So.., see what looks better.
I would crop #3 much tighter, try to crop down to the top of the guys head in the background in the peach shirt, and crop out the 2 girls on the left and crop out some foreground grass. Watch your horizons too, as the girl with the ball looks like she is running uphill, however the fence looks fairly straight. Therefore, try and straighten after you crop.
I'm not familiar with Rugby, so I was wondering why there are so many different colored jerseys on the field at the same time. Is this a practice or is there a reason for this.
I hope you don't mind the suggestions,
Rich
