Denise - If you keep making shots like that, you may get the opportunity to shot the cover for the Suburban Rapper someday.
Some ice from Lake Michigan today. I liked how the balls of ice and large chunks of ice mixed together to cover the surface. I hope you enjoy.

That is cool Pat, I've never seen anything like that in my sheltered life before, thanks for posting.

Interesting shapes, Pat. I've seen this before in the Antarctic. According to my notes, the small balls are called "shuga" and the large chunks are known as "pancakes". Apparently, they go with the floe (thought I'd get the pun in before Steve):)

Andy and Steve:
Thanks. When I was packing up for the day, I could not resist taking a few shots of the ice flow. Maybe I am a little weird, but they turned out to be my favorite shots of the day.

Congrats on the Explore for the lighthouse shot Pat, great long exposure and composition.

I didn't have the time to post this one here. B&W seemed to be the best choice.

Here is one I posted on Flickr yesterday. The mountain is the Aiguille Verte, 4122 meters (about 13500 feet if I'm not mistaken). It's located near the Mont Blanc, in France.

Lovely mountains, Tounis! I really like your black and white conversion.

Tounis:
Another great shot. I love the detail in the mountains.
-
Tounis: To me the mountain picture seems a bit dark, but it could be my screen, which is not calibrated at all... I would prefer a bit more contrast in the (dark) midtones.
