    "micro adjustment on the fly."

As I understand it the point of micro-adjusting is to determine the plane of focus for a particular body/lens combo. Once you've found it you're done...aren't...

I wanted to 2nd that thought. I just bought the 70-300 4/5.6 IS on Friday from Adorama. It's the first non-L lens I ever tried and I have to say it is pretty amazing for the price. Yes it's slow...

Thanks KB - I appreciate it. The 6D seems like a real winner...a few compromises from the current $3K body and more than a few improvements over the older $3K body. I love that 85/1.8 too, one of my...

    Re: EOS 1D X announced!

Ah - understood - thank you! (and HDNite)

I'm not sure why this is a knock on the 1DX though. Different tools for different jobs right? Of course we all make the best compromise we can given our...

    Re: EOS 1D X announced!

Hi Daniel - would you - or anyone - kindly elaborate on that a bit - what is a "focal-length limited situation?" Are you referring to video output only?

    Thanks!

DPP Question - Default NR ?

    Hi guys -

Do the 40D and 5D apply some sort of NR to raw images that isn't user-accessible?

I was surprised to see "2" when I set DPP's preferences to "camera defaults."

    Thanks.

Re: Requesting Website assistance and critique

Nice work Bob, I like it very much. The background color is almost exactly what I would've chosen - a neutral gray with a little "personality" - nice!

Good luck with the cleaning - there's really nothing to it - like Daniel said it's a lot like driving a car for the first time. Eventually you get behind the wheel, apply what you know and everything...

Re: Canon Announces EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera

yikes - that means I've been thinking about DLA completely wrong - the truth is a lower f/stop is the better body spec, right?

So camera sensors limit rez below a certain aperture, and lenses...

A 100-400L? From Canon? never heard of it...[:P]

Re: Canon Announces EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera

So the 60D's DLA is f/6.8. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that meant that 6.8 was the narrowest you could go without incurring a DLA "penalty" - anything tighter than 6.8 you'd see image...

Re: Canon Announces EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera

I'm pretty sure this body is aimed at Rebel users who want a snappier, faster camera that shoots video. This is a perfect "family" camera for folks that'll never use a micro-adjust feature - I'm sure...

    Sensor Cleaning Question

I can't seem to get a definite answer on this - whether bright light, like a high-powered LED flashlight, shining directly on a CMOS / CCD sensor is bad for it.
