I think this is one of those epic "QFT" moments.
Better yet: use $2000 of the $4000 and buy into one of the WSOP Hold
FYI (in case someone is willing to drop $81.5k): there
Two things: take the photo as close to 3 P.M. as possible if 3-5 is your window. Any later - especially close to 5 P.M. and in Florida this time of year - and your victims will be looking pretty much...
FYI, you should do a bit of digging on the web before even considering paying what they want. Getty is notorious for legal bullying and to my knowledge have never followed through on their legal...
No, it's not just you... the car and the models definitely look like they came from two different images (possibly even three - the model on the right is out of focus).
I think you could...
Well... you should at least take an image file and use Cancount to get the actual shutter mileage. Also, look for damage around the battery door (easy to replace the part, but it'll cost you about...
Not trying to rain on any parades here... but I've been following sales of 1Ds mkII bodies for the last year and have never (and I mean never) seen one in good condition go for less than $1700 USD....
For some reason I can't quite put my finger on I really love that shot of the P-40. Fantastic!

Thanks so much for responding! This one was my favorite of the 3 to choose from that Isaw online& I was hoping to find someone that actually used it and liked it. It seems these aren't the mos...
Denise, on your item #2 I'd say buy the Kirk. I've had one of their L brackets for my 1dII for about a year now and it's very well built. Also fairly low profile on the bottom so not uncomfortable...
You already have the really wide end covered with a great lens... pull the trigger and get the L.
To answer your original question, you're looking at anywhere from $3200-$4200 in a private sale for the non-IS 600 (depending on the condition)... higher end of that range if it's from a shop that...

Ditto on what Dallas said...
I'm with Shea... if the IS version ever comes out the best thing about it will be picking up the older version on the cheap.
I'm going to break with Oren and suggest that you do get an external HD for the Macbook. The main reason is using the included Time Machine software on your laptop to backup your stuff. It backs up...
Do tell where you found it... I must have one.
Very cool. I'd be concerned about accidentally stuffing it in my bag on some random early morning and leaving the actual lens at home. [:O]
On another note, I wonder if I could attach my...
Lack of sufficient nerdiness is a curable condition... just sayin'.
Guess that's what I get for not checking in for a couple days.
