I'm using a 5D MII and you're spot on. I must have moved the focus "box" previously and it doesn't reset itself to center so that must be what it is. That was making me crazy so thanks for kick in...

I don't mean to say one is more accurate than the other, I'm to say that the if you focus on a point thru the viewfinder then turn live view on you'll see that the focus box is located no where near...

I noticed yesterday while shooting in live mode that there is a big difference in the focus point verses thru the viewfinder. I don't see any difference in the picture when taken in either mode but...

This one turned out pretty good...

Agree the angle was bad but I was sitting on the ground waiting on the evening flight of mallards of the yard. These were just random shots while I was waiting. All of the shots were ISO...

Have some fun with a rented EF 400 5.6 You've really got to push the ISO(1250) with this baby to get a decent shutter speed (320) and aperture (7.1) combo but I'm stillexperimenting a bit.

Point taken relative to the crop. The shot is right out of the camera. No adjustments or manipulation at all.

That sounds like a similar issue I had recently. I went to another local camera store and sampled tow they had and found that one was smooth as silk the other hadvariabledragacrossthe zooming range....

It's called a speed brake. Mostmilitaryaircraft have them however the can be located in various places, even out on the trailing edge of the wing tips.

These are really stunning. I like to black background against the color. We've got a 40D and the new 5D MII along with a solid Gitzo tripod and two "L" series lenses (24-105 & 70-200 2.8 IS)...
