The 5D II is more than capable of shooting fast action sports. Here's an example of super bikes shot last year with a 70-200 2.8 and these guys were doing more than 170MPH.

For photography, get a monitor with either a MVA or IPS panel. Stay clear of TN's. If you're looking for a 22", I'd suggest the Dell 2209WA. It's relatively cheap for a IPS monitor but the quality is...

Yup, pretty much covers everything I normally shoot, Canon's holy trinity of zooms. Thanks!
Just switch to FF:
5D Mark II with BG-E6 and RRS L-Plate
16-35L II
24-70L
Got my 5d2 last month and never looked back. Coming from a 40D, there's significant difference in IQ and hi ISO useabilty. The only think I miss on the 40D was the higher fps. The large clear...
Looks good!. This is one of my favorite lens. Sharp and fast. Great for portraits too. The downsize is the weight.

Here's a few shots of my 40D with 100-400L at the 2008 Thunder over the Empire. This is a killer combo for airshows and will miss it dearly since I've sold both and now have a 5D2.
A few of these...
The only thing I change in ACR is the camera profile. Everything else are defaults.
In Photomatix, I rarely change those settings. I mostly play around with strength, microcontrast, luminosity...
The most common problem you will encounter with HDR is noise. Controlling noise will produce a better HDR image.
I use Photomatix, CS4 and Noiseware Pro.
First, I use ACR to convert...
Another happy Adorama refurbished buyer. Bought a 100-400L last year for like $200 less and it was almost as good as brand new.
Here's a couple of mine during my Utah/Arizona trip last fall
