ok, I have the 400mm f2.8 IS and is a great lens but I would give it up in a second for one 600mm IS lens,the 400 mm is not enough when you talk about birds,and you cant believe how heavy this thing...

hi,as a 24-105mm user I cant say i recommend this lens.I am using it on a 5dmk2 and I am not very happy with it.I have had the chance to use the combination 24-105+7D and is even worse,not sharp...

as a 5d2 owner I can only tell you that it is NOT ok for sport or anything that require fast AF.My previous 40D was way better when using the AI servo mode (maybe because the AF points were far apart...
