  2. Re: 5DMKII Video Experts - Need a Set of Sports Settings

Stills aren't an issue. I already have about 11,000 images of this same team. My only concern is video choicesfor the 5DMKII.

I know the lighting is pretty good, so I'm wondering what aperture...

  5. 5DMKII Video Experts - Need a Set of Sports Settings

Re: What to rent for a wedding?

Peety - I like the way you think! Why own just one 5DMKII when you can own two.

I have a 5DMKII (actually one at work and one at home) and a 50D that usually serves as a backup. The nice thing...

  8. Re: Favorite lens to shoot video with from DSLR

I love the EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM for video of sporting events. It even works pretty well from the back of a church at weddings. I mount the whole thing on a tripod with a video head.

    Re: Studio tripod

I use the Manfroto 058B. It weighs 26 pounds and you could rest a car on it. I installed the Manfrotto 501HDV head on top which makes a killer studio set-up.

Re: need wedding group photo tips

YEP. I'm slamming ISO numbers I would have never considered in the past and making huge enlargements for customers.

Re: 7d or 1d mark ii

I like the 1D MKII a lot and I still use mine for many commercial shoots, but the 7D has a lot of nice features. I think the screen size, improved controls and better menus makes the 7D a step up...

  23. Re: Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM or 85mm F/1.2L ................anybody have either?

The EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM is a fantastic lens by all accounts. I have access to the EF 50 f/1.2 L USM at work, so I've never made the $2,000 investment in the 85.
