I think that pretty much seals it for me, thank you for spelling it out so clearly!
The only thing I will be missing will be reach, but it'll be interesting to see how much I actually miss it.

Thanks for your reply Brant!
Yeah I get what you're saying in terms of the gateway nature of the APS-C cameras and kits. It might just be time to save up and make the jump.
To clarify, the...
Hey all, I know I haven't posted in <check's watch> oh, about 10 years or so, and it's good to see that quite a few of the familiar names are still here!
I made the jump from my 70D to the R7 last...
Stephen,
I grew up in Boise and know the area pretty well, including the area north of Boise where the total eclipse path will be.
Boise's a great medium/small city with plenty of places to...
That's a good thought!
These are all great replies, thanks for all the information guys.
I guess my overwhelming feeling right now is being torn about the idea of trying to shoot the eclipse. I don't for a second doubt...
Hi everyone,
I'm really excited about the opportunity to see a total solar eclipse this August, the first closely accessible solar eclipse of my life thus far.
I thought I would start a thread...
Goodness, I can't believe I didn't think of that. Thank you so much!!
There were 70 of the 1128 pictures that threw an error during the batch process, but it wasn't hard to find them and save them...
Hi all,
Need some of the great advice I usually get here once again.
I've spent the last few weeks working on a project for my wife, going through my entire photo archive in DPP since 2007 and...
Rich, I used that link myself here in the States with no issues.
Weird timing....it appears this is no longer necessary for many of us!

:)
Not sure if it's been discussed elsewhere in the forums, but supposedly there is a tweak to get DPP 4.0 to work with a few of the Crop Sensor bodies (not all of them).

Darnit Sean, why do you have to go and make such good sense? :) Now it's back to being complicated.
Here's the thing: I use PSE so rarely, that I can't even remember how to do basic things like...
Thanks, Sean! I clicked the links. :)
I have to decide if I'm going to spring for this versus just getting Lightroom alone (purchasing outright, no subscription). Right now, I really only use...
Don't know if this is common knowledge (I apologize if it is), but I have been considering moving from DPP to Lightroom and I stumbled across Adobe Creative Cloud available through Amazon for $9.99...
Thanks for your replies. Looks like I will stick with RAW. I was unaware of DPP's ability to filter by file type, so I will use that in the future if I ever need to.
Thanks!
Hey everyone,
Recently upgraded to the 70D (LOVE it so far), and when I was perusing the menus, I got the bug to try RAW + JPEG shooting. Seems the 70D offers RAW + different JPEG quality...
If you do plan to stick with shooting the clothes placed on the floor, I would avoid the 17-55. I don't know if other people experience this, but my 17-55 would fall all the way to 55mm if I had it...
Thanks for the info friends. I guess I can keep looking/waiting for it to show up. I figure it would be at least $300-$400 more than the 24-105 kit. Does that sound about right?
Hey all,
With the arrival of the 6D I've very recently gotten this possibly crazy idea of selling my entire current kit (60D, 100mm L IS Macro, and 17-55) and putting it toward a 6D kit. However,...
I know I don't post here very often, but I'm one HECK of a lurker! :)
Just wanted to share this because I thought it was pretty neat. Gizmodo used a 1DX's super-fast burst rate to shoot the...
I'll beat that offer. If you purchased a defective 5DIII, I'll trade you STRAIGHT-UP for my 60D. It'll save you the time it would take to purchase a new camera of your own. Plus, it's got a...
The 60D came yesterday, 3 days EARLY shipped on standard FedEx from Canon Direct. I immediately started shooting. The most amazing thing I've noticed so far is....well there's more than one thing....
I pulled the trigger on the 60D yesterday. I'm unbearably excited, and I have to wait until the 23rd for it to arrive. :(
I had had my eye on the refurb at Canon Direct ($799) this whole time. ...

Haven't joined one of these assignments in a while, but I LOVE long exposure work, so it's...
