So I'm confused by what you are asking. Are you saying it was fixed, and the problem is no longer occuring and you just are curious what the problem was or why it happend with light usage for the...
I use the 70-200 f/2.8 IS LII on my 5DII and 5DIII about 90% of the time! I shoot portraits though, so it depends on what you're shooting.
Ha, good to hear :)
I'm eagerly awaiting your 5dII vs 5dIII wedding experience!
One annoying thing I've found, which I'm sure can be an easy fix in firmware is the dual card slot functionality....
I honestly didn't see all the history, just noted his comment on being targeted for posting less that flattering information.
Personally, I think the 5DIII is a great camera, just not much...
I left the CR forums for being slammed for daring to post anything unflattering about a new Canon product...
I MOSTLY agree with the link you posted. ISO 800 on 5DII is much superior to ISO1600...
That only applies to in-camera JPEG conversions right?
This is obviously a Nigerian scam, the amount is WAY too high, please stay away from this offer for your own good! A REAL offer is more like $1000 for such a defective camera. Just PM me and I'll...
I wouldn't worry about it. If you do some more research, older models did the same thing, and it hasn't affected anyone in real situations.
Thanks for that tip Mark, I changed the setting and the points do show up all the time.
Also, I played with the 5DIII AF some more with more reasonable lighting ( ISO 400-800 territory ), and it...
I modified it somewhat, but now reading it again, I think I want to change it to "selected constant". But even with that, unless they're glowing red, I feel they are harder to see than on the 5DII. ...
Well that is interesting, because in my low light tests, I saw the focus move a lot, then stop, then couldn't see any other changes for a noticeable chunk of time, followed by the AF confirmation. ...
Well my comments were specific to low light stuff. I did do some studio testing ( to test sharpness between the 5DII and 5DIII ) and the 5DIII seemed more accurately focused on the nose of my teddy...
I actually plan on doing that tonight :) But with the test I was doing, if you select the center AF point, all of the surrounding AF points are either cross or double cross type.
Great, looking forward to it! Also be warned, you may have trouble with the AF, just because of the viewfinder in the 5DIII :) There doesn't seem to be an option to show the AF point you're using,...
Assuming I end up liking mine and think it's worth an upgrade for the other 5DII body we have, I'm thinking that around the Holidays is when vendors offer up some cool savings!
Well, my wife and I were shooting a wedding, and I had two 5DII's and 1 5DIII, so I thought I would stick to the old reliable technology until we got to the reception and then bring out the 5DIII...
I don't expect a review until Canon fixes their DPP software!
As well, I'm interested to see what is said of the AF, I've seen some weird results in dark wedding reception type environments and am...
