Proposed to my childhood sweetie last night in a tux with the ring tucked into a rose. I replaced the head and diamond (mom wanted it) with a sapphire (her fav stone and color). The ring was my...

I have a couple of DIY things. 1st one that's really simple is a reversing ring for a 50mm 1.8. You need a body cap and a cheapie uv filter. remove element from the filter. Drill the center of the...
I've gone to an iphone from android as my financee and I are becoming more streamlined with entertainment related stuff, and has more apple. Triggertrap makes an app that has a load of different...
Ive done events where the mercury barely kissed -11C
Funny thing is Saturday had 2 5Ks, I got roasted in them. I did stay pretty dry Sunday though.
Sunday was the wettest and longest 1/2 Marathon I've ever shot. Moderate to torrential rain, 60F, 15-25 mph winds and gusts up to 30 mph. 4.5 hr cutoff time, but stretched to 5 hours. One of my...
Yeah, but my birthday is in 10 days.
I have a slik table top tripod and ball head.. I'm just didn't want to list every piece of gear I own.
I have an off camera cord, and flash bracket. No need for better beamer as I could make one at home. I have canon CPS straps and Think Tank skin sets which I love.
Thought about a set of grad nd filters. I dont feel a need for a grip with the 5D. I'm so used to the 1D that I enjoy the lighter gripless 5D
Added the main gear just for you :P
I have $55 in gift certificates at Amazon. Let see what everyone thinks I should blow it on. Max out of pocket cost: $50.

"This forum doesn't discuss point and shoots"
Personally a camera is a tool, just like a scalpel, GIS software, a hammer, etc. Sure better tools help with the final product, but it is...
Do you use trekking poles? I once made a diy tripod out of two poles, my body and an old 1/2 moon adapter that allowed the tips to be threaded into the end and had a mount for a head atop. Some...
Heh, ok. Personally I consider the 24-70 to be lightweight, as I do my 70-200 2.8.
If using a heavy lens with a tripod collar, it would be best to use a plate on the collar as opposed to mounting via the body, event metal mounts can take but so much stress.
Does it effect the security of holding the body? Not that bad of a scuff, easily fixed with some paint or polish....remind me to show you a shot of my 1DII body.
I did the hike back in college around 2002, name was Winz Factor. I brought a small 35mm point and shoot on that hike. If I were to do it again with what I have and not worry about being a gram...
Use Fb to promote your website as mentioned above and to join networks. My buddy a wedding guy uses pinterest to promote his stuff as well.
Panopticon: welcome!
I used to do a fair amount of backpacking, including thru hiking the AT. For a combination of light weight yet good coverage and IQ I would suggest a wide fomat zoom, a mid...
