Phase One has a method of allowing use of the iPhone to remotely control Capture One, this also works with the Canon Utilities. Here's the URL:

The 580EX II is a buy it now and use it. The assumption is that newer units are always better but not in every respect, it may not interface with older ( or your camera) as well as it's contemporary...
Do I feel "old" now, I still shot 645 with an "old" Contax. There is an enterprise in Canada that is in the process of making an adapter for the "old" Contax 645 lenses to be used on Canon bodies...
Sounds like a good oppurtunity for an entrepreneur. I have been thinking of making my own frames, custom for each photo and then the constraints of size wouldn't matter, if the picture is 15" x 36"...
Nice post Mark, it is refreshing to be on this forum that is truly helpful. The unnamed forum is worthwhile if you can wade through the myriad of unhelpful (nice for mean downright nasty) posts....
You have to love all the choices in photography we have today, maybe Leica will jump in at some point and make their optics available for Canon, Nikon etc.
That will make a nice framed picture. My first shots are usually of my clock in the study where I am reading the instruction book, yours is much better. Have fun.
Dallasphotog,
I wish it were as easy as crack to break this addiction. At least you meet a lot of nice people doing this....better than crack.
I third the eneloops. Been using them for a year and they stay charged for months if not used, other rechargables are always dead if not charged prior to use and get worse with age. Combine these...
Very nice flash in a smaller package than the 580EX II. Not sure why Canon choose not to enable this as a master strobe in their wireless system, it would be nice to have a smaller strobe on camera...
Adam,
After reading the review of the 135L I am leaning toward it also, but having used the 70-200 lens it is very very tempting also, decisions, decisions.....lots of time to think this one out...

Thanks Daniel, I never paid much attention to the tables but it appears they are valuable, have you ever checked the tables against the depth of field markings on a lens, I wonder how accurate the...
Thanks Daniel, I wasn't aware of the switch, I'll definitely want to learn more about that, if you have any examples could you post?
It is rare for a zoom lens to have any depth of field markings that will be worthwhile, Nikon used to provide these on some of their push-pull zooms of 1960-1980's but they were not entirely...
Sharpness is not the only measure of lens quality. I have been using this lens on a Nikon (the ZF 85mm) for over a year now and I have never been disappointed with it in any way. At the time of...
