You go out and purchase an expensive camera and then go to Ebay to buy a cheap battery. What if it leaks and ruins your camera? Somehow the math doesn't add up.

A 70-200 f4 IS USM would be about a grand depending on where you purchase it from. It's very sharp and doesn't attract too much attention.
1D Mark IV with the 70-200 f2.8 II L IS USM....it's so sharp and the AF is fantastic.
If you have extremely steady hands ... then the 24 - 70 f2.8. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the 25-105 f4 L IS USM lens. Having IS is a great advantage and you can always just use the auto iso...

If you are only going to use one camera....then the Black Rapid strap is terrific for walking around all day.
If you are going to work an event and have to carry two bodies, I would then go with...
I have the 5D MII and the 1D MIV but still use the 5D MII the majority of the time for it's image quality. As long as you have good glass, you can't go wrong.
Why on earth would you want to sell the "cream of the crop" for something that is not as well built. If you need more reach, get a 1.4 extender. For macro....assuming you have a the 100 2.8 or 100...

I just got the Elinchrom BRXI 500 which has built in Skyport receivers. I can't seem to get my Sekonic L358 light meter to work with them.
Does anyone have this combination and if so, how...
Has anyone had any experience with this? I am trying to put together some studio lights and want to start off soon but not spend too much $$$$$.
Both will do a good job but I feel that a MAC has much better resolution for viewing images.
The Cotton Carrier comes with a separate belt holster that you can attached either to your belt or to the side of the Cotton Carrier itself. The ring that you attached to the bottom of your camera...
I got an early Xmas present from my wife....a cotton carrier....In the meantime, my order for the spider holster arrived....having had a week to try them both out, my preference is the Cotton Carrier...
You already have a good camera body....I would invest in lenses.
It really depends on what you are shooting. I have both cameras and they perform very well. For moving objects, the 1d MIII is a much better choice. For landscape and portraits, it's the 5d MII hands...
Tried the BlackRapid R strap....switched to the Spider Holster....now using the Cotton Carrier which is fantastic.
I use the 70-200 f4 L IS USM for most of the portrait shots on my "people" section of my website. My hands just aren't steady enough for the non-IS version.
It's a terminal disease called "gearlitis"..but what the hell, you seem to be doing ok
I have both cameras and use the 5D MII primarily for portraits and landscapes. The IQ is spectacular with the right lens. I picked up a new 1d MIII about 3 months ago and have no AF issues with it at...
Has anyone purchased this new product? If so, would you recommend it.
I debated on getting the 2.8 or the 4.0 version of the 70-200 mm lens for quite some time. I finally decided on the 70-200 mm f4 L IS USM lens for a variety of reasons. It's quite a bit more...
I have both the 5d MII and the 1d MIII. It really depends on what you like to shoot. I use the 5D MII for portraits, landscapes and generally photography on a day to day basis. For sports, I always...
I just bought this particular lens two weeks ago. I used it to shoot some images of the Agassi vs Sampras exhibition match in Macau. I am quite pleased with the lens' performance and the AF is very...
I traded in my 5d for a 5d II a few months ago. I am extremely pleased with the performance of this camera for landscape and portraits. With the USD getting so much weaker vs the YEN, you might as...
