    Re: 1D Mk IV

From what I've heard so far from canonrumors' review (which is actually done by some other guy), and from Bryan's review, the Mk IV's focusing performance has improved a lot over the Mk III.

IMHO, I'd like to see some more texture of the cake. Get closer if you can!

The colors and lighting seem good, but I think you could've done a little better regarding composition - I want to...
  5. Re: What's the #1 Best Advice You Would Give To Someone New To Photography!

One last piece of advice that might get overlooked many times:

Your camera doesn't matter. It is *You* who takes great pictures. Don't waste a lot of time worrying "Is my lens sharp enough?"....

Re: What the highest "usable" ISO on a 5d Mkii??

Between ISO 1600 and 3200, quality takes a little dip. And from then on, the dip becomes deeper. But for me 3200 is still usable, noise is okay. ISO 6400 for emergencies only with noise-reduction...

Re: Too much going on in one frame?

I like creativity! For me, I don't see trees or my attention wanders to them. Maybe you can position the camera somewhere else, so it only shows you, the rainy window and the trees? The camera...

Re: Am I doing something wrong?

That reminds me of a Youtube video of Chase Jarvis describing his technique when doing high-speed photography.

Re: Canon EF 50 f1,0L USM samples

    What? Sharp?

It is somewhat sharp, considering it's f1,0... Contrast wide open isn't really great and CA is present. Although the new 50mm f1,2 isn't flawless regarding CAs either. I am a little...

Yes, Garrett-Grimsely, I still would appreciate some tight, close up headshots and head/shoulder portrait shots of your rented lens.

    Enjoy it!

Portrait lens for the "other" portrait

    Hello all,

I could really use your input on this matter.

I also do the "other" kind of portraiture work - meaning: nudes. My current lens lineup includes:

    The Canon 24-105mm f4, the...

While I also have the new IS Macro lens, I happened to see some apparent mistakes in your very enthusiastic review.
