Well, I had a vivitar lens (400mm) for my Canon A-1, decades ago. Don't think a bad filter would make any difference in the image quality with that lens ;).

Here is my submission. Was lucky to see the moon crawling over the treetops at a distance.

Have you considered Metz? I have one which I bought for my 400D, and it works perfectly with my 70D as well.

Tempting. Price? Guess it will be priced approx. the same in Finland and Norway.

Nice image, Jamsus. Here is a challenge for you. Do you manage to convert it to B/W and still manage to keep the sense of autumn? The leaf is rather scared, and has two distinct colours, so it could...
Hi Jonathan.
Nice site. I had a look at your Svalbard-pictures, really nice. But as a native Norwegian, I found two small mistakes. First, it is called Sognefjorden, not Songefjorden. Also, it...
I have this lens, and it is my favourite lens. It has a fast and accurate auto-focus (compared to my other lenses), even in dark conditions. I also find post-processing images from this lens much...
@ Sheiky:
Not to be on the too critical side, but the "rainbow" at the lower left is a bit distracting. Does anybody know if there exists tools for removing such lens artefacts? The picture would...
Just curious on how your 60D feels after you've tried it a few times. Anything you miss, or feel could be better? Any regrets or second thoughts?

I usually shoots with my 17-50, but when I recently went with only my 85mm, I found myself spending more time to frame the pictures and of composition, than to use the zoom to try to fit in...
This is an interesting subject also for me, since I am contemplating on the same choices. For me, I am upgrading from a 400D and at the same time, I will be exchanging my Tamron 18-50, which has...
Since you are already using a tripod, it would be interesting to see a HDR-version of the first image. It should be possible to make three different exposures, and you will avoid the completely...
Nice pictures, and very sharp, but maybe you could use a surface that is not scratched up either? Or perhaps go for a surface that is even more "beaten up"? The sharpness of your images reveal quite...
Thanks again for useful tips. Interesting thought about the double exposure. However, I am digitizing somewhere close to 2000 slides, so I need to do it a bit automatic. We have found a scanner with...
Thanks for the replies. I will continue to bother you a bit:
I have an old slide duplicator, but that only works with a full size body (which costs more than a scanner). Otherwise, that would be...
I am bringing this up again, because we are some friends that wants to digitise diapositive slides. We would like to buy a dedicated 35-mm film scanner, and would like to know if someone has...
A related thread was active a few years ago. There are some good examples there as well: http://community.the-digital-picture.com/showthread.php?t=3925 but many of the early images are gone.
I...
Since I take the liberty to comment other's pictures, I might as well post some myself. Here are two from this summer. I tried to think B/W when I chose the motives, although they were quite nice in...
I like the last picture best. I like the contrast and the sky. It looks very dramatic. The first image could perhaps benefit from some more contrast? But it is matter of taste, I guess. It would be...
Here is my portrait attempt from a zoo in Norway. I don't often post nowadays, too busy. But I follow the threads to get inspiration.

Back to the 70D. Do you think it is worth the money, or do I get more camera for my money with a 60D? I am eager to replace my 400D with a lower ISO noise camera within a few months (unfortunately,...
I hope that this thread will be a popular one. I have a summer (and autumn) project that is to do more black and white photography. I don't have lightroom, but found the B/W converter in photoshop...
Thought I'd submit my entry before the deadline. My version of a household item. Taken with a 400D (sic), Tamron 17-50 2.8 (at 26mm) with a polarising filter. Settings: Iso 100, f 5.0, 1/100.
Raw...
