Also trying out the new EOS 7D Mark II. AF should be better than the D750 and I believe it is. However, it's taking more practice to get the same number of keepers. Especially on panning shots.

Spent the summer trying out a few different camera body/ lens combinations, including the Nikon D750. Have to give the D750 some credit, the AF is awesome.

One more interesting shot from this past summer. This one was taken at an annual aviation event in Lancaster Texas. This was not shot with Canon gear, I was playing around with a Nikon D7100 and...
More from Cavanaugh. The 2014 fall event was outstanding!

These were taken a last month at the CAF's open house event at their future home, the Dallas Executive Airport.

My 7D Mark II arrives later today - along with cloudy skies, 30 MPH winds and temps falling into the 20's by evening...sigh. Not ideal conditions for outdoor shooting, but I'll be out there trying it...
Sunrise Photo Shoot at Cavanaugh Flight Museum in Addison Texas
Two museum pieces, Sopwith Camel and Fokker DR1 Triplane, that haven't seen the light of day in many years. Both are replicas, but...
Yeah, it never ends. My wish list is as long today as it was when I started.
I haven't noticed a significant difference in AF between the two and my keeper rate is much higher with the 70-200mm. I haven't actually checked the weight difference, but my shoulders say the...
Another with the 6D / EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM +1.4x III pairing. This is a pricey lens, but so worth it in my book.

I currently use both the 6D and 7D bodies with a EF 100-400mm, the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM +1.4x III combo and the Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011 for air shows. With out a doubt the...
Nothing like a big radial engine roaring to life. Thanks guys!
Had an awesome opportunity to attend a sunrise photo shoot of a very rare bird - Lockheed P-38 Lightning "Glacier Girl". If your not familiar with the history of this aircraft check out this link,...
Been away for awhile, time to get caught up a bit. Airshow season is cranking up with June being the busiest month. May was no slouch either with events like "Wings Over Addison", the annual spring...

A few photos from the Ada Air Expo, Ray Stout Memorial Warbird Fly-in, held this past weekend in Ada Oklahoma. First try with the 7D 70-300mm L combo. Snapped over 1400 shots, 500 + were stinkers but...
Thanks guys!
A few images from the Take To The Skies AirFest 2013 held at Eaker Field in Durant Oklahoma on April 27th of this year. It was a great show that I hope they make an annual event.

Speaking from the point of view of someone still trying to figure this wonderful hobby out, I find the data available on TDP invaluable. The ratings won't mean much to me, but the reviews, sample...
These were actually taken back in November and I was thinking that I didn't use a flash because I thought I had used my 5D2. However in looking at the Exif data I see that they were taken with a...
A few more of our Gus. Still working on getting a good indoor photo of him, guess I need to start learning about speedflashes.

Heard the same rumor and have to admit that I did give the Nikon D7000, D300s and D600 a serious go. None could hold a candle to the Canon's I tried out (60D, 7D, 5D Mark II) and the distortion on...
Since getting into photography last year I have found TDP to be an invaluable source of information. The knowledge gained from this site was invaluable in making my hardware decisions. The...
That's the spot, excellent guess :)
