Re: Looking for a discreet camera bag...

I've used a diaper bag in truly high risk urban locations. All camera bags look like they hold cameras or other valuable gear. Not so with a diaper bag. I'm not talking about those that are bright...

Re: Canon EOS 1D Mark IV Digital SLR Camera Review

I've owned and used the 1D Mark IV since Jan 4 2010. Prior to that I owned (still own) and used the 1D Mark III for both my personal and professional work. I shoot primarily high movement/low light...

    Bryan's 1D Mark IV review

I just got done reading Bryan's extensive review of Canon's 1D Mark IV. I just wanted to add that based on my own experience with the rig since January 4 2010 I concur with almost all of his...

Re: Lens and Settings for Theatre Shoot

Try whatever exposure setting suits you. I find evaluative the best in most situations. The 24-70 is a strange beast for focusing and it really has nothing to do with focal length and DOF. I have...

Re: Lens and Settings for Theatre Shoot

You have the gear needed to capture the shot. Timing is EVERYTHING. Select what you want to do. Are you going to follow a specific dancer or a pair? Or are you going to try to capture a group of...

    Re: Any camera strap reco's

Having lugged around my 1D Mark III with a 70-200 IS lens for days at a time, I vowed to NEVER use the stock strap. I have used both straps below and can recommend them without hesitation. Now with...
  11. Re: Opinions: Ditch my 24-105 f/4 L for what? + poll

The EF 24-105 f4.0 L IS lens I have is one of my most sharp lenses in my bag. I also have the EF 28-70 f2.8 L which I actually prefer over the 24-70, but it is much less forgiving than the 24-105....

I think your speed is fine. My only suggestion is to have captured her on her way up so that her tutu is not above her waist, which is not as flattering.

Re: canon 24-70 f2.8 IS USM???

I personally don't see a ton of value in an IS version of the 24-70. 70mm isn't that long of a focal length for hand holding. I'm hoping for a 24-105 f2.8 IS, which would be heavier than dirt for...
