curious for feedback on this photo as well. A lot of editing happened and curious how obvious it is to people...
For what its worth the poll turned out with the same results as it would have if I remembered to judge. Great images everyone!

Sorry, I totally forgot about this and havent been on in a few days. Looks like the poll will do just fine though.
I can vouch for the 50d being a great body, especially as a first digital. It has all the features you need and I like the bigger size compared to the rebels. I actually have a 50d on ebay right...
I'll throw in a couple I took last weekend

Cypress and storms...
This is an interesting idea. Ive actually been toying with the idea of doing a road trip out west this fall. Never thought about finding a few other photographers to go.
Could make it fun.
I'll throw this one in to get things going. A year old, but I thought of it immediately after seeing the subject of the assignment.

This was down in Everglades National Park.
I just picked up a 500mm f4 IS II about a month ago and the increase in quality over my 100-400 is significant, so I can't take all the credit.
Thanks everyone. It was such a great morning I went back the next day to the same place, and got a few more good ones. I'll try and post them soon.
Pulling an old one out for this, but I don't do much with music and photography. Plus I still love it.

That is a female boat tailed grackle. If you have food in your hand she probably would have gotten even closer. They love stealing food from people.
I think that is a solid guess. leukistic raptor of some sort at least. Based on size and location I would also agree it is probably a red tail. Pretty great find. If it was me I would have tried to...
thanks for the input everyone. I wasn't sure about it at first but its growing on me.
haven't posted in a while.

I'm still trying to decide if I like the result, so I welcome opinions.

Great shots Joel. the flight one is great. FYI, that is a Great egret though.
Bald cypress down in the swamps in the south also loose their needles. (there are a few other conifers that also do this) I think all the conifers that do this are pretty unique and neat to see.

I think you said it perfectly. Since it looks like the 70D is at about the same level as the 7D, they really need to replace the 7D soon because we don't need two cameras filling the same niche.
