battery charger question for those who live/travel to Europe

Hi everyone,


So I'm writing from Moscow and I have a question about the battery charger that cannon gives out for the XTi, do I need a converter from 110-210 (or is it vice versa) to use it or is it like my computer whose cord automatically converts things? Just wondering so I'll have more than 2-3 weeks of battery (I'm here for 8 weeks).


If I need a converter I'll probably just find a camera shop and by a different charger since cannon is sold in Russia.

Not sure what you are asking about... If you are from the USA then you might need some converter so you can *plug in* your charger to the electricity socket.


But if you are talking about voltage and the like, there should be no problem. Just to make sure, take a look at your charger's back: you should see something like this:


Input: 110-240V AC 50/60Hz


That means that the charger can handle and AC current which is between 110 to 240 Volts and with a frequency of either 50 or 60 Hertz - I believe, but cannot promise you, that this range covers at least 95% if not 99.9% of the countries in the world.


110V at 60Hz is used in the USA I know. About europe, I'm not sure but if I had to guess, I would guess they are using something like 220V at 50Hz.

I found out that - USA: 120V @ 60Hz, Europe and most of Asia: 230V @ 50Hz


Now just check at the back of your charger to make sure it can handle 110-240V @ 50/60Hz (I'm sure you'll find out that it can do that).

Voltage you should be fine, just need the physical adapter so it fits.
