What did you shoot, July 19th through July 25th

    Anyone care to share?

I shot some butterflies...and some other stuff that hasn't been processed yet. All shot with the 7d, 70-200 f4L IS and a Kenko 1.4x TC.

Nice subject! Let's go with that...

I was actually shooting some outdoor portraits of my little girl at a community farm of which we're members...and this little guy fluttered by.

Two shots that were both posted in other threads. First is in Camarillo and second is in Placentia (both California).

    Canon 50D with Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 @ f/8, ISO 100, 1/200 sec

Kodak P20 Flash @ 1/4? power shot thru subject right and Canon 430EXII at 1/8? power subject right rear (most of the rim light fell on the wall with a tiny bit hitting my ear.)

    Canon 50D with SP AF tamron 11-18mm F/4.5-5.6 Di-II LD @ f/5.6, ISO 100, 1/200 sec, 11mm

Canon 430EXII shot thru @ 1/4 power, Yongnuo YN460 bare subject right @ 1/8? power, and Kodak P20 flash bare subject left @ 1/8?. I need to start writing these things down! hah

    Jayson -

Ilike your second shot the best. Great composition, and nice colour contrast with the background.

Here are a couple from the past week:

July 20: Osprey nest in Banff National Park, Alberta
    Canon 1D III, 300 mm f/2.8 with 1.4 TC, 1/1000 s @ f/8, ISO 800

July 24: Chipmunk at the summit of Ha Ling Peak in Canmore Alberta
    Canon 5D II, 24-70 f/2.8, 1/640 s @ f/6.3, ISO 400

Thank you! I have to correct myself however, it is actually a golden mantled ground squirrel. Regardless, it was quite entertaining.

Wow. How did you get close enough to him with only 30mm?

I actually had to back away! These guys are quite agressive when it comes to stealing food from hikers. In fact, the only reason they thrive on a mountain top is due to all the food droppings. They are so accustomed to getting fed, that even if you hold open an empty palm they will run over to you.
