EOS 60d, Rebel T2i, new lens rumors!!!

If you thought the 7D was nice, get a load of this:


It seems that the 60d and T2i are probably set for release Feb 9. Also TBR could be a few awesome lenses – check out the links @ the bottom.

60d - 18mp, HD vids, new AF – D90 killer right here


T2i - new video modes, ergonomics, LCD


And the best...


a 14-24 f/2.8 IS, just like the Nikon! Finally, a pro wideangle zoom for FF bodies! Oh well that certainly would be nice [H]

As I said in another thread, when Canon releases something, they release something. If they haven't released it, they haven't released it. Let's save the rumors discussion for the rumors site.

Why would Canon release a 60D when the 7D is the leader in its class?
I've owned one since the day it came out & have struggled to find any
bad reviews on this camera. The majority of owners love it (pros &
amateurs alike) & Canon brought a real winner to market. See David Stoecklein's (Canon Explorer of Light) interview here. Most importantly, I agree with Peety - these threads should be reserved for the rumor sites.

I just wish there was something between them in price.....I want a 7D, and the new Rebel doesn't have a couple of features I want (Microfocus & faster frame rate).

A 60D seems VERY unlikely. I have been contemplateing this issue for a while know. If they were to keep the XXd line it would have to be better than the 7D and update the XD line with something better also. Or just discontinue the XXD line altogether.

If there is room for two models in the Rebel/xxxDI think there is room for a XXD and a 7D. Perhaps they could slightly downgrade the XXD like hey did with the XS/1000D.

I know that speculation is beneath us...... so let me dive right in! []


I think there is definitely room for the 60D in the lineup, and it could be something like the following:


15 MP sensor from current 50D with incremental improvements, so as not to tread too heavily on the 7D's turf


Focus system from 7D


Digic IV processor, single


HD video


If this could be sold at the 50D's original market price, it would create a level below the 7D but above the Rebels. Harmony, birds singing, children laughing, Canon profits soaring. All would be right with the world.
