I've gotten to where I don't keep a lot of my camera equipment in the car. The heat of summer can be brutal on batteries and capacitors, and unless I'm planning on using it, I don't carry it. Come to think about it, I've never had a deer write me a check, so I'm not as compelled to be ready at a moment's notice... :-)
