    Show us your bag/purse/etc.

I've seen these threads elsewhere, mostly on tech forums and I thought that it would be interesting. Post what you typically carry with you, whether it's a purse, man bag, backpack, etc.

I try to bring this with me wherever I go:

    • Lowepro Flipside 400 bag
    • Canon 7D
    • Canon EF 24-105L lens
    • Canon EF 70-300L lens

    • Canon 50 lens

    • Filters

That's for when the AF fails on a fast moving target, turns it into a slow-moving target and AF works better.
An awful lot of electrons were terribly inconvenienced in the making of this post.

Ok, here's my camera bag, the Tamrac 5588 Expedition 8x:

    And here's what it holds:

    In the main compartment:

    Canon 5D Mark II
    Canon 7D

    BlackRapid RS4 Camera Strap

    Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS
    Canon EF 17-40mm f/4
    Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8 L
    Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS
    Canon EF 24mm f/2.8
    Canon EF 40mm f/2.8
    Canon EF 50mm f/1.4
    Canon EF 85mm f/1.8

    Kenko 1.4x Teleconverter
    (3) umbrella swivels
    58mm ND filter
    77mm B+W ND filter
    77mm B+W CPOL
    77mm Singh-Ray Vari-N-Duo
    Various step-up rings
    Extra body/rear element caps
    Radio receiver bags

    Tascam DR-07 audio recorder
    Windscreen
    Gaffer's tape

    In the outer pockets:

    Wired remote trigger
    Wireless trigger RC-1
    Lens cleaning cloths
    Extra DSLR batteries
    Several memory cards
Case with flash trigger cables (miniphone and RJ11)
    (2) Gray cards
    Fishing tackle case (see below)

    In the fishing tackle case:

    Cyber Commander
    Cybersync CSRB Receiver
    (4) Cybersync CSRB+ Receivers
    (2) Cybersync CST Transmitters
    (2) umbrella swivels
    (6) Hotshoes with miniphone jacks
    (5) Miniphone to Mono adapters
    (2) Miniphone optical slaves
Various studs and other small accessories

Note: The Canon 7D and 17-55mm f/2.8 IS are not shown because I used them to take the picture. The Canon 40mm f/2.8 is hiding underneath the Canon 50mm f/1.4 (upper right compartment), and the Kenko teleconverter is underneath the Canon 24mm f/2.8 (upper left).

I also usually carry a rolling suitcase with monolights and a shoe-mount flash case (holds 5 flashes, extra batteries, gels, etc).

And no, I don't know what it means to "pack light." ;-)

There is no 'typically'. I've got two Toploaders, four backpacks, and two utility belts for various cases/pouches. My gear varies based on what I plan to shoot, and the bag(s) are selected to accommodate the chosen gear with as little empty space as possible.

I suppose if 'typical' means what I almost always have with me, it's this...

John i don't think there's enough room on the forum server for you to post another picture of your collection of gear!

I'm not showing a picture of my bag, because all my stuff doesn't fit in it anymore. I am, however, looking to get a new one soon, a backpack one instead of an over the shoulder bag that I have now. Here's my kit now, but I am planning on replacing the 18-55mm and the 55-250mm with a 24-105mm and 100-400mm. I am looking for a bag that will carry all of that gear.

    From Left to Right
    - Canon 50mm f/1.4
    - Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-4.5
    - Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
    - Canon 55-250mm f/4.5-5.6
    - Canon 100mm Macro f/2.8
    - Canon T3i with Canon Speedlite 320EX and Canon BG-E8 Battery Grip

I'd consider a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW. Holds a gripped body, white zoom, 4-5 black lenses, you'll have a little room to grow. Tripod holder, all-weather cover, opens from the 'front' (against your back) for more security and not setting the side that goes against your back down in the dirt.

That sounds about perfect, thank you!
