A tail of an old butterfly

I was looking for some birds up by the lake and happened to see a Tiger Swallowtail struggling in flight and fall gracefully onto a bush near by. I grabbed my camera with my 300mm F4 IS with a Kenko 1.4x tc. As I approached the butterfly I could see that he had very tattered wings and was thinking I could get some prime old battle tested butterfly shots. Here was the first shot I captured.

He started to move all over the place and it didn't seem like a natural movement for a butterfly.

I saw this bump on the butterfly and thought maybe he was sick or something. Then I got a little closer...

    .

I believe it was a crab spider and he was man handling this butterfly! This would have been a great time to either have my tubes or my macro lens with flash set up on me. Lesson learned!
