EFIX data question again

I have tried several free download utilities that display exif data. The only one that gives me shutter count gives me the following:

<p class="MsoNormal"]File Number/ Shutter Count<span>

<p class="MsoNormal"]I do not think I have 68,885 shutter actuations so I am sure I do not have over 200M

This happened to me before so I'm going to ask you this question:

Did you use your CF card on another camera and set the file numbering to continuous? When you put a CF card to a 3000 shutter 350D, takes some shot, then back to your 200 shutter 50D, file number of succeeding images would be 3001.RAW, 30002.RAW etc etc.... That's why when I swap CF cards, I'm sure to remove traces of images from another camera before slapping it on my 50D.

What program are you using? I guess you're a Canon user, had you tried Digital Photo Professional? This program shows your EXIF data. And it's free.

No. I re-format my card after each shoot.

Programs I have tried are: exiftool(-k) and GexifView. There are a few others but they did not give me much data at all.
