I am really intrested in getting a Wireless Transmitter but I don't want to pay $200 for the Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2. Can anyone recommend a cheaper Transmitter?

Cactus V2 or V4. Or PT-04's. Search ebay. They have hot shoes in them. There is a quick moddification I can show you to get better range and relaibity. A set of them should cost under $60 USD.

I've heard good things about the CyberSync transmitters. A step up from the Cactus ones (in price also). Depends on budget/usage I suppose.

I do when using a flash bracket. I dont use TTL so i use a hotshoe with a pc plug that runs a pc to pc cord to mt 1D mk 2. With the exception of the 580 EX2, canon flashes dont have a sync port so you will need a hotshoe with a port, or a hotshoe with an optical slave that can be triggered using the pop up flash set to a low low power.
