B&H and Adorama Have the 5D Mark II in Stock for $2,499.95

I'm sure this is something many people have been waiting to see - B&H and Adorama currently have the EOS 5D Mark II on sale for $2,499.95 in a kit that includes a bag and two Sandisk Extreme III 4GB CF cards. A very nice $200 savings over the initial MSRP. Jump on it now! Through the links on the Site, of course. []

The 5D seems to be on a 3 year update cycle (the original was released in 2005, the second in 2008). So my guess is the buzz starts this week (as they've lowered the MSRP), but the camera won't be released until the end of 2011. :-)

Yeah I've always followed the 5D closely. I was able to get my mkII 3 Days after they were released. So I figure it will a couple more years before I'm shelling out for the mkIII. But I love the rumor mills and all the speculation.

According to the rumor mills, the 1Ds MK IV should be announced in a couple of months. According to a source quoted by CanonRumors, the specs look something like this:
• 32MP
• Looks like a 1D4 with a bigger bump on top
• New sRAW modes
• Feels very similar to use to the 1D4
• AF looks to be the same as the 1D4
• Similar features to 1D4 in most areas – inc. ISO
• Low light performance noticeably improved on 1Ds3
• 5FPS

I must say that 5FPS sounds a bit hopeful for a 32MP camera...so we'll just have to see.
