Old Vivitar flash compatibility???
I have an old vivitar flash that came with a film camera purchased back some 10 years ago. It has a lot of power and I would love to use it for off camera purposes. I have a optical slave that I use on it now that works just fine. However, I am worried that when I try to use this in an event setting when other people as snapping away, it is going to fire at the wrong time.
I recently purchased a set of Ebay triggers (CTR-301P) and they work great with my 580 exII and not so good with a recently purchased Vivitar 285HV.
Anyway, my question would be if the old vivitar was attached to my wireless receiver, would it fry it? I know you can't connect this to your camera and wouldn't ever try it, but do the receivers have the same issue?
Thanks,
Jayson

No need for a response. I found out on my own.
For a bit of information if anyone cares here is what I found.
In case you ever have an issue and need to look up voltage on a particular type of flash, I found this website.

Regarding my question, I found this site.
