    Assignment 14 - DOF - Discussion Thread...

It seems that I may have thrown a wrench into the gears of progress. This is considered an EPIC FAIL on my behalf and as such I have decided to start a new thread to discuss (thanks to Jan) any possible query or concern that anyone has with Assignment 14. This will also allow to keep the Assignment board clean.

So swing away and lets try to keep the tomato tossing restricted to thisthread....LOL!

Emilio, I think you should just make the challenge Depth of Field. Contestants can submit any work that show great depth of field (both forground and background in focus) and thin depth of field (macro shots). Judges and voters should look into the two extremes.

I agree completely, Nate. I think it would be interesting to see results for the two "extremes". Also (and I

I see that the original thread is going to be voided. When it reposts some of the confusion is this: Depth of Field, Aperture and Bokeh are three different things. Perhaps if the assignment were specific to one only. Like say "Give me your best Bokeh" or "Aperture wide open only, what can you do?" or "Depth of Field, Go thin and make it work"

A thin DOF with macro can be a challenge, making the out of focus areas a positive instead of a negative can be an art into itself (and other forms of photography to).

    Thats my suggestions.
