Fireworks time
Do you have fireworks shots to show off? Post them here if you do []
I don't have a tripod so these are all handheld. Manual mode was used, aperture was set to f/8 most of the time (should have used f/16 or higher f number - next time), shutter speed = bulb, ISO 100, manual focus set to infinity except with one or two shots which I tried to take using AF.

Re: Fireworks time
I think you should have used a bit faster shutter speed and narrower aperture so the fireworks themselves wouldn't have turned overexposed as they did. Except that, the scene itself is AMAZING - nice work!

Re: Fireworks time
Here's a shot I took during my "before Canon" days. I was setting up a camera on a tripod, and checking settings before the main show started when someone from the crowd launched a single shot into the river. A 5-second exposure at f/5 on a "point-and-shoot" Fuji S6000f

Re: Fireworks time
Oren,
I never would have attempted "hand-held" fireworks shooting, but I actually like the effect; almost like electricity. Here is my first attempt at fireworks.

Not very exciting, but this is as good as it gets for small-town fireworks.

Re: Fireworks time
looks like a macro shot of a dandelion, sort of. I think it's neat.
