First time buyer of an off camera-flash -Suggestions/tips/advice etc?

Like the thread title says I'm looking to buy my first off camera flash, and if anyone were to give me an pointers or suggestions of what to get or how to use it I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks for your time!

I typically go to bed between 11:00-11:30pm and get up at 6:45am. In fact, I have a hard time keeping my eyes open in between those hours. ;-)

And the nicest thing about it is you only had to do it once...........[]

Iculpin waisted no time in putting it to good use.

Now all we need a thread with the list of strobist gear and where to get. Sean, just a list, not a book with illustrations...[] That's what I meant in the first place.

I am glad, though, that you went overboard...it's greatinstruction my friend!! ...[]

Did you see the little deal I posted here:? That's nota bad way of sumarizing flash basics if I do say so myself. With a little tweaking we coulduse that outline for folks wanting to know why they're struggling with flash. What d'ya think?

I don't think it's long or in-depth enough. If you can read it in one sitting, what's the point? (Seriously though, itlooks succint and to the point...I'm not sure I could have done it in so few words). ;-)
