Question about best photo scanner and setting

I am new to the community. I have thousands of old photos I want to digitize. I was wondering what is the the best way to do it without losing quality (scanners and setting). They are 10-20 yr old photos which have faded some. I need to put them on a hard drive for storage.


Any ideas or suggestions or links will be appreciated.
