Just Got My 70-200 f/2.8 L IS
Arrived just after lunch today so I dropped everything and started shooting. About an hour later the sun peeked out its head and I managed to get a few shots of a pigeon in my next door neighbour's garden. Settings were Tv 1/400, Av F2.8, Evaluative metering, ISO 100, Focal Length 195mm. Body is a 40D. No PP, just cropped a little.
Please let me know what you think and what I could have done differently / better - any comments will be very much appreciated.

Update (a few hours later)
Canon EOS 40D Tv 1/500, Av F5.0, ISO 100, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, 200mm. Again, just cropped.

My 2 cents would be directed at PP. I tweak colors and contrast. Contrast is a little milky due to being back lit.

Thanks very much Keith. Any better?

Looks good!. This is one of my favorite lens. Sharp and fast. Great for portraits too. The downsize is the weight.

The PP is better no doubt, but a bit too dark. Did you increase the blacks?

Re: Just Got My 70-200 f/2.8 L IS
I remember when I first got mine. God that was a great day!! I especially liked to take it outside in the sun and look down into the lens. It looks like two pieces of glass rather than the 15-18 elements in it. I just picked up the 1Ds2 and paired it with the 70-200. This combo rocks!!! Can't wait to see if the rumours of a new 100-400 pan out in March. I'd be estatic to see a new 100-400. My bank account doesn't like me, but comes with the territory I guess.
Great shots, and enjoy the new lens. It's AWESOME.
Rick
