hdmi out????

So I go to use the HDMI output on my 50D last night and I take a hdmi cable out of my bluray player to plug into the camera and to my surprise the HDMI Port on the 50D is in fact not the same size as the standard HDMI port....





was anyone aware of this?

Yes, that correct. No problem, go to radio shack and get the little converter plug ($8.95). It works like a champ. Game over!

I second the extra cable. I know that it probably works most of the time, but if your display is at all shaky regarding handshaking with HDMI, the extra connection of the adapter could cause problems. That is my experience as a professional A/V systems integrator at least. Take that FWIW.
