    Expandable ISO?



    How does one actually expand the ISO range on a Canon camera? I keep reading about these, but I haven

    You have to go into the cameras menu, and go to the custom functions section, then under the exposure section, you have to turn on the expandable ISO range.

    +1 on that. The Xsi doesn't have that feature. The T1i was the first Rebel to have it. I think the feature came in with the DIGIC 4 processor....?

    Randy,

    Baker is correct. Unfortunately, your XSi does not go beyond ISO 1600.

    For Rebel bodies, expandable ISO was introduced on the T1i / 500D, which has a normal ISO range from 100-3200, expandable to 12800 via the custom function that Nick described.
