Canon Issues LP-E6 Battery Pack Product Advisory

This exact thing happened to my two Sterlingtek brand LP-E6 batteries. They went dead after prolonged lack of use and wouldn't charge. But despite Canon stating that the procedure they outline for Canon LP-E6 batteries with this issue won't work for non-Canon brands, I can attest that it does indeed work. That is exactly how I solved the issue with my Sterlingteks.

Canon simply can't verify that the procedure works with third-party batteries because there's no way for them to test all the other manufacturers' batteries. And why would they? Canon doesn't make money on them. :-)
