I was extremely tempted to get the Surface Pro for that purpose, but then when my 16 gig iPad kept running out of space I went to the Apple store to replace it. I came out with the 11" Mac Book Air 128 gig model for the same price as the 128 gig iPad.
I loaded LR/PS from CC on it and find it really works quite well for me. So I would assume the Surface Pro being a similar system would work well too, but never got the chance to try it. I am very happy I decide to go with the Mac book rather than the iPad for just that reason.
