    B-17 Flight Pics

I have not processed any of these, but I thought I'd throw them up as-is. These were taken with a Canon 50D using a Canon 24-105mm L USM and a Canon 10-22mm USM. (I've got a couple hundred I think, so this is a small sample).

I think I'll leave it at that for now. Don't want to go overboard!

The last shot was actually taken right out the top of the plane. No window, just an opening... 150mph to the face looking forward (I have a VERY secure hand strap). The third to last shot was taken from the upper turrent, you can see the machine gun barrels on either side.

Yeah, I took the flight. I've been wanting to do it for several years, but it's a little pricey. $425 for about a 30-40 minute flight.

Just an amazing airplane in it's day. Those things could take an incredible beating and still fly. There are tales of 1/3rd of a wing or half of the tail being gone and them still making it back. One supposedly even made it back with a Japanese "Zero" sticking out of the side of it (it had simply crashed right into the side of the B-17.

It's nice to see a few groups keeping some in flying condition.

Much of that $425 goes to keeping these aircraft flying and to some other worthy causes as well, and you get great photos to put on your wallto look at for a long time to come.
