If you search ebay for the Canon version of the item you are interested in, you will see a bunch of versions coming from China with free shipping. I have had positive experiences with lens hoods (various "brands") and remotes (I have a Yongnuo) that work great. Wouldn't buy filters and I am wary of flashes, but other minor accessories are fine. They just take a couple weeks to arrive.
Is the hood for the 50mm the ES-62? If so, PM me and I'll send you one. PS, I also have the screw in mount for the hood.
